MAC Address Generator — Random or Vendor-Prefixed, Free

Generate random MAC addresses for testing network device configurations, virtual machine setups, or spoofing test scenarios — with the option to use a specific vendor OUI (organizationally unique identifier) prefix to simulate a particular manufacturer's device.

How to use MAC Address Gen

  1. Choose random or a specific vendor OUI prefix.
  2. Set how many addresses you need.
  3. Generate and copy the addresses.

Frequently asked questions

What is an OUI prefix?
The first three bytes of a MAC address, assigned by the IEEE to a specific manufacturer — Apple, Cisco and others each have registered prefixes, which is why a device's MAC address can reveal its likely manufacturer.
Can I set the locally-administered bit?
Yes — generating with the locally-administered bit set produces an address explicitly outside any vendor's registered range, useful for VMs and test environments that should not collide with real hardware addresses.
Are these real, currently-assigned addresses?
No — they are algorithmically generated for testing purposes, not addresses assigned to real deployed hardware.
