AES Encryption Tool — Real, Modern Encryption in Your Browser
Encrypt or decrypt text using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) — the actual algorithm that protects HTTPS traffic, disk encryption and password managers worldwide, not a historical or educational cipher. Encryption runs locally through your browser's Web Crypto API, so your plaintext and password never leave the page.
How to use Aes Encryption
- Paste your text and enter a password.
- Choose encrypt or decrypt.
- Copy the resulting ciphertext or recovered plaintext.
- Keep your password secret — losing it means the ciphertext cannot be recovered.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this real, secure encryption?
- Yes. AES is the actual standard used to secure HTTPS, disk encryption and password managers — this is genuinely different from the historical ciphers (Caesar, Vigenère, ROT13) also on this site, which provide no real security.
- Is my password sent anywhere?
- No. Encryption and decryption run entirely in your browser via the Web Crypto API, so neither your plaintext nor your password leaves the page.
- What happens if I lose the password?
- The ciphertext cannot be recovered without it — AES has no backdoor, which is the entire point of using real encryption instead of a reversible-by-design cipher.
